Campaign: | To raise awareness about anxiety disorder |
I had my first panic attack when I was 11. At first it was just every so often, like once a week, but now it can be every day.
Because my anxiety’s become so bad, I’ve had to drop out of school.
People have seen me having an attack and accused me of being drunk, which made me feel quite low like no one was there for me.
With Fixers, I'm going to be making a film to raise awareness about the disorder.
To be finally given a voice feels amazing because I know that it’s going to help people.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with my Fix:
Cat Shaw | David Cooper |
Dylan Edwards | Edward Hall |
Emma Lowes | George Taylor |
Heidi Mattocks | Holly Maddison-Pendlebury |
Jack Doherty | Jacob Ryan |
Joshua Fawcett | Karl Otty |
Laura Johnson | Laura Nuttall |
Lois Chague | Lorna Williams |
Milo Waters | Nancy Brookes |
Rebecca Calderwood | Rhiannon Brightmore |

February 2014
After my story was featured on ITV News, I was invited to meet Andrew Bingham MP to talk about my campaign.
He was very supportive of the project and suggested contacting the county council to see what help we can get with promoting it in schools.
There was also talk of forwarding the film to the Secretary of State for Education, Michael Gove.
My meeting with Mr Bingham was covered by the Derbyshire Times. You can click here to read the piece.

After watching my broadcast story, here is what some viewers had to say.
'Jake’s news story described my exact feelings in my day-to-day life and even my husband has just I think realised by hearing his story how bad it actually is as I became very emotional whilst watching it.
'I would like to commend Jake for his campaign and can appreciate what he has to deal with. Thank you as well for highlighting the effects so well.'
'Well done, mate. I suffer from anxiety and it's awful at times. Wishing you a good recovery.'
'Great website. I too suffer from panic attacks and agrophobia. Keep up the good work!'
