I’ve always been quite a shy person and never really felt comfortable talking to people I didn’t know.
However, doing work experience for eight months as a shop assistant helped bring out my confidence and made me feel self-assured.
I don’t think enough young people are aware of the benefits of volunteering and how it can help later on in life.
With Fixers I have helped create a short film looking at my time as a voluntary member of staff.
Hopefully it will inspire more people in my age to take up unpaid work and gain valuable skills in the process.
