Campaign: | To raise awareness of the different forms of domestic abuse |
There are many different types of domestic abuse. It can be emotional, psychological, physical, sexual or financial.
It can also affect people in all types of relationship – including those in younger or same-sex relationships.
With Fixers I want to raise awareness of abuse.
I hope to create a film depicting a number of different scenarios to help those who are being abused spot the signs and seek support.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with my Fix:

Chapter 1
The team at Chapter 1 are supporting my Fix. The charity offers help to people who have experienced domestic abuse.
February 2014
My Fixers film is being shown in schools by community engagement officers of Test Valley Borough Council.
I have also presented my film to a local mother and baby unit, speaking about how to get help in a situation of domestic abuse.
December 2013
A screening has been held at The Junction in Andover to show my Fixers film.
Around twenty people attended including representatives from Test Valley Borough Council, Hampshire Constabulary, Alabaré, Simplyhealth and Andover Foodbank.
Fixers Young Person's Coordinator, Wayne, gives an introduction at the screening.
I received the following feedback:
Vanessa Brown, Care and Support Manager for Alabaré’s young people’s services: ‘I thought the film was brilliant. I’ve done quite a lot of work with young girls and young men around positive relationships and I think it’s really important to get the message out into the wider community.’
Genee Jasper, Manager of Sarum and Oasis House hostels for young people: ‘I thought Maddy’s film was inspirational and it’s very clever how it was done.’
