Campaign: Cheaper travel for young people

As a young person living in Carrickfergus, public transport is very important if you don’t drive.

But we feel that the costs which come with it are unmanageable.

So we’ve decided to enlist the help of Fixers to create a billboard campaign encouraging commuter travel companies to lower their fares for young people.

This will not only benefit others like me, but will encourage more young people to use public transport in the future too.

Here is a list of Fixers helping me with my Fix:

Beth Collier

Courtney McMurray

Daniel Hunter

Jordan Livings

Lyndsey Davidson

Nichola Carson

Carrickfergus YMCA

Pamela Rainey from the local YMCA supported my Fix by providing a venue for my team of Fixers and I to meet.

March 2014

Members of the Translink Youth Forum had some encouraging things to say in regards to my project. You can read some of these comments below:

Ryan (14):

'This project is a great example of how Fixers gives all young people the appropriate platform to change their community for the better. I hope Fixers continues to help our youth deliver change.'

Neil (17):

'As a member of the Translink Youth Forum it was really interesting having Fixers highlight issues with transport for young people. Their project not only helped me learn more about it, but hopefully, given what the youth forum can do, it will help others too!'
