I am part of a dance group in Wales. We are all incredibly passionate about what we do and were even chosen to represent our country over in America.
What we'd love people to realise is that dance holds so many benefits for those who want to join as it teaches new skills such as loyalty, commitment and discipline.
With the help of Fixers we're creating a campaign to show others what dance means to us all.
We’d love to rally more support for this activity and encourage new members to take up this positive art form.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with my Fix:
Lauren MacKinnon, Footloose Dance Company
Lauren runs the studios where we rehearse our routines and also appeared in our broadcast piece to support our campaign.
Solveig Frykman-Lloyd, University of Wales
Solveig is a tutor of Movement Studies at the University and appeared in our ITV broadcast to lend her expert advice on the benefits of dance and to support our campaign.
We've been working on a booklet with Fixers to show what dance means to us and it's now finished!
You can see it by clicking on the image below.
We’re in the process of planning a performance event where we’ll hand out copies of the booklet.
Each of the photographs used in it has also been turned into a poster to display in our dance school.
January 2014A story about our Fixers project appeared in the Carmarthen Journal.
