Living with autism can sometimes make you feel imprisoned. Despite wanting to make friends and interact with other people, autism can be an isolating experience.
It was while animating a title sequence for Fixers that I decided to use my animation skills to show people what it is like to live with the disorder.
I have created a series of short films with the help of Fixers to show others what it can be like for me to go through day-to-day life, whether socially interacting or facing my fears.
With the help of Fixers, I also got to meet my animation inspiration, Alex Olinkiewicz, who lives in New York and has Asperger’s syndrome.
Fixers arranged for us to have a chat over Skype, which you can view by clicking on my TV story below.
Alex lives with Asperger's syndrome and appeared in my broadcast piece to discuss his own experiences with the condition. Living in New York, Alex served as my animation inspiration and it was excellent to be able to talk to him over Skype.
