Jamal, Lewis and Mrisi

Jamal, Lewis and Mrisi

Name: Jamal Ali, Lewis Healey and Mrisi Makondo-Wills
Age: 18
Year of the Fix: 2010
Location: Brighton
Campaign: To prevent racism

As individual rappers, (Jamal 18, Lewis 19, and Mrisi 17), we have all experienced racism from various people that we’ve met. This inspired us to come together to create a music video with Fixers, asking the public: what is race?

We wanted to challenge the concepts of it, and show that it doesn’t matter where you’re from, stereotypes should not be made and race should not be an issue.

As a group, we’re all from different ethnic backgrounds, but we wanted to show people that we could come together and unite through music.

We created our film with the help of Fixers to show to young people and promote diversity.
