We are a group of 16-24 year olds living in supported housing called Impact.
The flats are there for people who are vulnerable and for those who need support before living on their own.
The support here is great as the staff help you go out into the world prepared with important life skills.
But there is one problem. Nobody likes going out into our courtyard as it’s very dull and boring.
We want somewhere to go to have a laugh and just relax.
We have some really cool plans on how we would like our courtyard to be, including painting it and making it look bright and not gloomy.
We would also like to grow our own vegetables, so we can produce food for local community events.
Last of all, we would really like a bench or some tables and chairs for everyone to gather in the garden.
Hopefully by working with Fixers, we can make this dream a reality.

July 2013
We have been working hard over the summer to create a nice communal space for residents at our supported accommodation with Impact Housing on Hart Street in Ulverston. Now, the date has been set to complete our Fixers project, which has seen our courtyard turned it into a bright, happy space with a vegetable garden.
May 2013
The North West Evening Mail has published a story on my Fixers project.
Also as a result of the news story, we've already had some kind donations and messages of support from the public for our courtyard Fix. You can read some of these messages below:
Jan
'I saw the appeal in the local paper and thought it was great to see a positive story about young people for a change. I think their project sounds great and I can't wait to see how it turns out.'
Mr and Mrs Ticker
'We saw the project in the local newspaper and thought how lovely to see young people doing something like this, we wanted to help out in any way we could. We did not realise this hostel was here or that something like this was even needed in Ulverton so it has been eye opening for us. It has been a pleasure to meet the young people and have them show us around. I hope we get to see the finished result.'
Norman
'I saw the project in the paper and I think it's great. I hope they are successful with it.'
