Campaign: | Discouraging young people from getting into gangs |
I used to be involved in gangs from an early age. I’m not proud of what I’ve done in my past but now I want to make a change.
I was hard to talk to and didn't listen to the advice of my peers.
A turning point for me was when I got ambushed and almost shot. It was the first time I feared for my life and thought my life has to change.
I’ve seen friends die and it’s terrible. Working with Fixers, I hope to inspire young people to do something positive with their lives.
People think being in a gang is glamorous but if they saw the true realities they wouldn’t consider it.
The more people we can get through to, the better. At the end of the day, it's about saving lives.

I have submitted written evidence to the All Party Parliamentary Group for Children (APPGC) inquiry to explore children and young people’s relationships with the police.
The APPGC published its final report on 28 October 2014. The report sets out a range of recommendations, which my evidence fed into, to provide a clear framework for strengthening police practice in relation to children and young people.
