I started cooking at the very young age of about 10.
The first things I started to make were cakes and biscuits - that’s where it all started.
My main influences are my grandparents, my parents now - they’ve always been very involved.
They would always get me to make cakes and biscuits, and help out by cooking meals at night.
I first knew I wanted to be a chef from the age of about 14. It always was a passion and I always enjoyed it.
People who don’t cook themselves are missing out on the fun you can have.
They don’t get to feel they’ve cooked it themselves. They don’t get to feel that feeling inside that they’ve actually accomplished cooking that dish, that they’ve actually been able to put it together from scratch instead of resorting to a ready meal.
For my Fixers project, I want to encourage young people to learn how to cook for themselves and eat well.
