Asad

Name: Asad Mahmood
Age: 22
Year of the Fix: 2013
Location: South West London
Campaign: To bring London communities together

London is a huge city, and there are a variety of cultures within it. But rather than seamless integration, many areas remain separate from each other.

Through an event including singers and speakers from across London, my friends and I are encouraging community cohesion by showing that people from other London boroughs are no different.

Postcode loyalty is a waste of time and only limits what you can do. Young people should feel comfortable in meeting people from other areas, and should be encouraged to mix with whoever they want.

Here is a list of Fixers helping me with my Fix:

Adrian Corinthian Adulca Glynn
Christopher Browne Curtis Fitton
Daley Stirling Darren Ricketts
Dhruv Shah Diane Ifode
Dwayne Blake Ebz Lawson
Eudina Jarrett Everton Brown
Fazel Khan Francesca Oliver
Jessica Chambers Joel Robinson
Lamar Biggs Marlon Richards
Mikel Aheen Mohammed Suhail
Myles Mcken Nahum Skeete
Nathan Harriott Nathan Malal
Rain Dafa Sakib Mahmood
Shakeel Hussain Suzannah D'Abo
Tristian Edwards Yasir Khan

April 2013
With the help of my friends and Fixers, we held our first community cohesion event in London to bring young people together.
