Name: Leanne Dodson
Age: 24
Year of the Fix: 2013
Location: Sheffield
Campaign: Helping victims of human trafficking

I want to highlight the terrible plight of women who have been trafficked to the UK in the sex trade, but are given just 45 days of safe accommodation when they escape.

I don't feel there is enough help out there for them and often they're left in limbo with nowhere to go.

Many of them are not given asylum and therefore cannot work legally and have no money.

I want to produce a short film, which will highlight what happens after the 45 days at the ‘safe house’.

It was hard at first hearing these stories. But after a while I started to think these women probably dreamed about having a better life by coming to this country, so that’s what I’m going to help them to do.

I got into this because I really want to make a difference and working with Fixers will hopefully allow me to do that.

Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:

Becky Davidson Beth Warren
Brogan Robertson Bryan Yau
Daisy Wilson Frances Gray
Harlie Briggs Hollie Jones-Bradburn
Jessica Lee Josiah Varcoe
Kate Williams Kay Bennett
Kirsty Wise Martha Kallenou
Lily Robinson Nicole King
Nora Acturki Rebecca Davidson
Rebecca Stott Rob Ryan
Sarah Tan Toby Ogunsijl
Zafirah Affendi

After my TV story being shown on ITV News, the Sheffield Star published a story about our Fixers project.
