Campaign: | Challenging stereotypes of cheerleading |
I've been cheerleading since I was 9-years-old and I love everything about it.
But what I'm fighting to change are the negative stereotypes that people associate with cheerleading. I feel it's not taken as seriously as it should be.
I'm 18 now and still get comments from people who think cheerleading is a bit of a joke, which is far from the truth.
You have to be very fit to do what we do and still have a smile on your face even when you're tired.
It's also great for keeping fit and something everyone should try out.
Working with Fixers, I want to raise the profile of cheerleading in this country and hopefully make people realise it’s a serious sport.
I want to give something back to cheerleading and make a change.
