Campaign: | To stop the spread of STIs |
In my area of North Wales, more and more young people have been catching sexually transmitted infections (STIs). My friends and I have been worried by this, mainly because there are many STIs which can have long-term health effects.
It can be embarrassing to discuss sexual health, and a lot of young people put off talking about this because they are afraid of being judged. But this lack of communication about sexual health means a lot of infections go undiagnosed and untreated.
So, as a team we are creating an accessible phone app, which will allow people to seek confidential information about sexual infections, how to treat them, and where to go for treatment.
We hope this app will be downloaded by young people not just in our area but across the UK to cut the number of STIs.

Our app, KYSH-Know Your Sexual Health, is live and can now be downloaded on to both Android and Apple devices.
To find out more, click here for the Android version or here for the iPhone/iPad version.
Alternatively, you can download the app by scanning the QR codes available on our promotional poster below.
The app has been well received at youth clubs in Saltney and Ffrith.
Here's what some young people had to say:
'If anyone needs to find information on a certain infection this app will help you. It would be great if more young people take note of the information provided by the app to learn about the different infections they could pick up.’
‘It’s really good and gives you advice.’
'I learnt new information about the different infections.’
'It’s good because if you don’t want to ask anyone about this kind of thing, the information is here for you to look at.’
'It provides good information and is easy to understand.’
