I think that, even today, there is a stigma around eating disorders - I want to raise awareness about this mental condition.
The more we talk about it, the better help someone can get. I know what it's like not wanting to open up to anybody, but eventually I did.
For me, it was a combination of school pressures, which led me down that road.
I think it would be great if we could get healthcare professionals on board and give our message more weight, so people will take note.
If I were to give some advice to others in my position, I would say that speaking to someone is the key. Whether that be a friend or your family, it’s good to get things off your chest.
Eating disorders are in the mind and require appropriate treatment. So I hope working with Fixers gives me a chance to really push forward some positive change and hopefully save lives.
