I was only 21-years-old when I had a stroke but now I want to use my story to warn people about the signs to look out for.
It was scary. At first I thought I just had pins and needles but I realised something was not quite right.
I started panicking because I couldn't feel or move one side of my body. I was confused and the longer it went on, the more worried I got.
I think too many people do not realise that strokes can happen to young people as well, and I want to raise awareness of the issue.
Before this happened to me I was kind of my own boss and did everything I wanted too, you think you’re invincible at that age.
This has changed my life. When people ask me why I walk with a bit of a limp they’re shocked when I tell them I’ve had a stroke because they don’t expect you can have one so young.
I want to use my story as a way of showing it can happen to young people and raise awareness to save lives.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:
I have been working with this charity on this project and before Fixers.
Georgina Wilson, Mimi's Hair and Beauty Salon
Thank you to Mimi's Hair and Beauty Salon where some of our broadcast shoot was filmed.
After my broadcast story was featured on ITV News, my story was covered by a number of news outlets including the Manchester Gazette.
I also attended the UK-wide launch of Fixers at Westminster, where I had the chance to meet MPs, celebrities and other Fixers. Take a look at the Westminster Wall for more info.
