Campaign: | To make prisoners aware of the effects imprisonment has on their families |
My brother spent some time in prison when I was younger and it had a profound effect on my family.
I do not think he realised the effects prison would have on us, and I do not think many criminals do.
It feels like you are serving the prison sentence with the person who is on the inside. There simply is not enough to raise awareness to the prisoners about the effects of their crime.
I do not wish to reveal my real name, mainly because I am afraid myself and my family will be seen as guilty by association.
Now, I am making an audio CD which I hope to distribute to prisoners or criminals who maybe facing custody. The CD contains interviews from prisoners, and their families, to help everyone understand just how crime and prison affects the family.
Thank you to Revolving Doors for being interested in copies of my completed project for use at your agency.
