Campaign: | Helping young homeless people into work |
I feel that many employers write you off when they hear the word 'homeless'.
I have lived in care for most of my life and want to change this stereotyping that exists in the workplace by speaking to employers and changing their perceptions.
I really care about this because the feeling of being homeless is not a nice one, and it hurts even more when people don’t give you a chance.
It’s good to meet those who are as passionate about something as I am and I hope my project will dissipate the negative stereotypes that exist.
I am working with Fixers to make a film and encourage employers to think again about the thousands of people in the same position I am in.
The following Fixers helped me with my Fix:
Daniel Foster
Reece Shaw
Richard McCann, Motivational Speaker
Richard gave me advice about talking to employers and appeared on my broadcast item.
Ben Keegan, Roundabout - Local Youth Housing Charity
Ben supported my project by providing an interview for my broadcast item.
