I got involved with drink and drugs from a young age which quickly spiralled out of control and led me to being taken into care. I began to write poems to help me express what I was feeling at that time.
I had a baby at 14 and because of my drink and drugs habit he was taking away from me and was given to my mum to look after. This was the turning point as I realised how I’d been hurting my family with my behaviour.
Using drugs and alcohol is not the way to deal with your emotions. It only hides them for a while until you pick the bottle back up. You do have a choice and there are people who want to help even if you think they're just doing a job.
As a Fixer I have published a book of my poems. You can see it by clicking the link.
