Campaign: | For young people to understand the dangers of legal highs |
Growing up in a small town where there’s nothing much to do is difficult and I’ve seen first-hand how it can affect people. Friends of mine have turned to drugs to overcome the boredom and more recently they’re taking the so-called ‘legal highs’ because they think they’re safe.
I’ve seen my friends take them and I’ve seen what they’re like whilst they’re high and what they feel like the following day and neither are nice to see.
What scares me the most is what it’s doing to them in the long-term. I’ve seen their personalities change over time and the health difficulties they’re having because of the drugs.
I’ve managed to avoid getting involved with drugs myself but I can see how easy it is for people to go down that route. I just want people to see that there’s another life outside of drugs and that it’s important to break the cycle before any lasting effects kick in.
The following people helped me with my Fix:
Danny Macdowell | Brendan Reilly |
Sophie Scott | Krystal Cubby |
Brad Patterson | Becky Johnson |
