I grew up in a military family - both my brothers have served in Afghanistan and I've been considering a career in the army too.
I've seen people close to me who have returned from war find it difficult to adapt to life back home. It's no surprise really considering what they must go through out there then to just return home to normality. I want to reach out to those soldiers to let them know how much support there is for them, particularly from their friends and family.
I wrote a song to help express my feeling in the hope that the lyrics will also help soldiers and their families cope with adapting to home life. One of the most significant lines in the song for me is "His war is over but he still hears the sound of guns". I think it sums up everything that I'm trying to highlight.
