My mum has suffered from paranoid schizophrenia and other mental health problems since I was a baby.
As I was growing up, I was terrified I would go down the same path as my mum. It made me very anxious and low.
Eventually I decided I had to change things. I began to eat more healthily, I gave up smoking and took up exercise and meditation. I haven’t had a panic attack since then.
Fixers has helped me create a booklet to help people better understand and control their mental health.
My main message is it’s okay not to be okay, but you can help yourself to stay healthy.
