Name: Chloe Stratford
Age: 18
Year of the Fix: 2019
Location: Southampton
Campaign: To encourage people to take better care of their mental health

My mum has suffered from paranoid schizophrenia and other mental health problems since I was a baby.

As I was growing up, I was terrified I would go down the same path as my mum. It made me very anxious and low.

Eventually I decided I had to change things. I began to eat more healthily, I gave up smoking and took up exercise and meditation. I haven’t had a panic attack since then.

Fixers has helped me create a booklet to help people better understand and control their mental health.

My main message is it’s okay not to be okay, but you can help yourself to stay healthy.

I would like to thank the following people for helping me with this fix:

Adam Spicer

Anna Johnson

Christopher Fleetwood

Brittany Paget

William Steptoe

Harry Hodsey

Eleanor Ayling

Jake Lewis

Lucy Dray

Jay Stevens

Ethan Bunting

Megan Giles

Katherine Ingram

Iesha Harfield

This project was supported by the Blagrave Trust.
