Millie Whiteford

Millie Whiteford

Name: Millie Whiteford
Age: 18
Year of the Fix: 2018
Location: Washington, Tyne Tees, UK
Campaign: To campaign for better equality between woman and men.

I’ve been inspired by Emily Wilding Davison, the suffragette who died when she ran in front of the King’s horse at the 1913 Epsom Derby.

She gave her whole life to what she thought was right – getting women the vote.

I’ve been surprised that, more than one hundred years later, there are still many instances of gender inequality – unequal pay is one of the biggest.

Fixers has helped me create a GIF to get across my message that we shouldn’t be discriminated against because of our gender. We are all human and we need to be equal.
