Catherine Vincent

Catherine Vincent

Name: Catherine Vincent
Age: 22
Year of the Fix: 2018
Location: Middlesborough
Campaign: To get people to talk about their mental health issues.

I started suffering from depression and anxiety after my Gran passed away.

I didn’t tell anyone how I was feeling for a long time. I felt embarrassed and stupid, not being able to cope.

It got so bad I had to take a year off University.

I felt much better when I finally opened up. I got some counselling and talked to friends.

Fixers has helped me make a short film. Its message is that trying to hide mental illness just makes things worse. It won’t get better until you seek help.

The following people have helped me with my fix:

Nathan Lazenby

Ben Thorpe

Aimee Tumelty

Alex Coldstream

James Henry

Tabitha Evans

Robert Stephens

Beth Simpson

Andy Robinson
