Campaign: | To get people to talk to someone they trust about their mental health |
When I was struggling with my mental health, I found that talking to someone with whom I was comfortable made all the difference.
When I was 12, I started restricting food and I would also purge as well. I didn’t realise it was a problem for a few years, and when I did realise I didn’t want to tell anyone about it.
When I was about 16, I confided in my teacher. She was my form tutor so I knew her relatively well. She was always really supportive of everyone and always had time for people.
My only regret walking away from the conversation was that I hadn't done it sooner.
I've created a booklet with the help of Fixers to encourage others to find a comfortable space where they can talk freely about mental health issues they may be experiencing.
Colyer-Fergusson supported me with this project.
