I was in care from the age of 14. After a few years living in foster care, I went into supported living about four years later.
It was around that time that I fell pregnant, which completely changed my life.
It was quite challenging living in supported accommodation and raising a baby. I had to live in very basic accommodation and even had to visit food banks to feed my daughter.
One thing I wish I should have done more was ask for help.
I’m now working on a Fixers campaign to encourage other young parents with similar experiences to mine that it’s okay to ask for help and it doesn’t make you a bad mum.
Hopefully my campaign will show others they’re not alone.
