Campaign: | To encourage British people to appreciate where they live |
I had to leave my homeland because there was religious persecution and I was scared for my life. I wasn’t safe so I had to leave home.
I ended up at the 'Jungle' refugee camp in Calais. I was only 16 and a long way away from family and friends.
After several attempts I hid in the back of a lorry full of fertilizer and managed to get across to Britain. Finally, I felt safe.
I went to college and university here and got a much better education than I would have had at home.
I want to thank Britain for having me, and encourage young people who were born here to appreciate how lucky they are.
