Campaign: | To get more people from ethnic minority communities to join the Organ Donation Register |
I had both my kidneys removed after they failed completely due to a rare disease called steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome. For over a year I was on dialysis for more than 20 hours every week.
I learned that I would probably have to wait longer for a kidney donor because I’m from an Asian background and there’s a shortage of potential donors from minority communities.
Now Fixers is helping my family and I campaign to get as many people as possible on to the donor register.
I was saved by a stranger who donated one of his kidneys to me. I call him my 'god-sent angel'.
My message is that you too could give someone the gift of life.
Koren Jackson and Hannah-Jo Lawton helped me with this Fix.
Charlotte Gilbert and Sue Romy supported me with this Fix.
