Campaign: | To highlight how using mobile phones can both harm and help your mental health |
I'm campaigning to raise awareness that mobiles phones - which everyone uses every day - can be damaging to your mental health.
Mobiles can trigger or worsen depression or feelings of inadequacy, and can put you at risk of cyberbullying or social media addiction. But they can also be a lifeline to unhappy or isolated individuals.
I've battled depression myself, so I know how hard it is to suffer a mental health condition. My goal is to let other young people know that life can, and does, get better, no matter how dark life might seem.
When I first became depressed, my family didn’t really know how to give me the support I needed. Thankfully, I’ve now got the help I need, with support from my family and friends.
Although you can suffer from mental health issues because of your mobile phone, help is out there, and it’s so easy to find. It’s all on your phone – with one search, you can find the numbers, websites and email addresses to contact.
