Chloe Geer

Chloe Geer

Name: Chloe Geer
Age: 17
Year of the Fix: 2017
Location: Waterlooville, Hampshire
Campaign: To help young people bond with their foster carers

I have been in foster care since I was eight years old. Foster care hasn't been the easiest journey, but it got me away from a difficult domestic situation that I was too young to understand at the time.

The carers that I have now are amazing. I started living with them when I was 15.

I didn't know what they were like or how I would find living with them, so I was nervous at first. But they spent a lot of one to one time with me, which helped me get to know them better, and they'd talk to me about how I was feeling and take me out at weekends.

I've made a booklet with Fixers to benefit other children in foster care and help them deal with their emotions. I hope it helps break the ice between foster carers and children, because it can be hard.

The following Fixers helped me with this Fix:

Joe Weltch

Matthew Grenney

Michael Underdown

David Wren

Sheriden Harris

Tatum Brown

The Blagrave Trust

The Blagrave Trust is supporting Fixers to work with a number of their partner charities in Hampshire, Berkshire, Sussex and Wiltshire to give young people a voice.

Yana Preston from Roberts Centre also supported me with this Fix.
