My brother-in-law Andy took his own life. It was a shock to the whole family. He wasn't acting strangely and there were no signs there was anything wrong; it was completely out of the blue.
I think at the time he probably didn't feel like there were people we could talk to, even though there were.
Men think that they can’t show any weakness because they don’t want to be a burden.
From a young age, we're told 'boys don't cry' and 'be a man'.
So with Fixers, I've made a film challenging that. I want parents to teach their boys that it's okay to show emotion.
It won't bring Andy back, but I hope it will stop the story repeating itself.
