Campaign: | To show others that you can break the cycle of crime |
I got involved in crime from a young age.
I started hanging out with the wrong people, and joined a gang in Newall Green, Manchester.
When I was 14, I was sentenced to ten months inside a youth offenders’ institute for burglary.
Then, when I was 16, I was sentenced to two years for robbery.
Shortly after I was released from prison, I was convicted of possessing a firearm and I was sentenced to two-and-a-half years.
That wasn’t the end of it. When I was 21, I got a seven year sentence for robbery, which I'm still on licence for.
It was my fourth time in prison, and I wondered where it would all end.
Over the years, seven of my friends have died in crime related violence.
I suddenly realised that I didn’t want my life to go that way, so I made the decision to change.
Now I work as a builder, making an honest living.
I made a film with Fixers because telling my story because I want to show others that you can break the cycle of crime.
