Here in Brighton, one third of all our waste is food and half of that is food we could eat.
I volunteer for an organisation which takes food that local supermarkets would otherwise throw away and turns it into meals for the public.
I think if we didn’t waste as much food we wouldn’t need as much coming into the country, therefore reducing the amount of carbon emissions that are being released.
The message I want to get across is that food waste is linked to global climate change and it’s a problem we can easily solve if we all try.
