Lucia Mee

Lucia Mee

Name: Lucia Mee
Age: 17
Year of the Fix: 2016
Location: Ballycastle, Co Antrim
Campaign: To get information about the organ donation register onto the national curriculm

I had my first liver transplant when I was eight-years-old and then I had my second when I was nine, and I had my third when I was 16.

I have a condition called auto immune hepatitis, which causes the cells in my body to attack my liver.

I want to get organ donation onto the national curriculum in secondary schools so that young people can learn about it in a classroom situation and can then base their decision about organ donation on information that’s correct.

It means a lot to me becuase it’s saved my life three times. And not only has it saved my life, it’s given me a life that is filled with many different things like ballet and swimming and lots of other stuff which I love to do.
