We want people with speech, language or communication needs to be entitled to an interpreter for doctors’ appointments.
I was born with Cat Eye Syndrome, which causes a speech disorder.
I find it difficult to communicate, so I use sign language.
However, when I go to the doctors’ I have to take my parents with me to help communicate.
Unlike deaf people, we’re not entitled to have an interpreter there.
I’d like to change that, so with Fixers, I made a film showing the struggles we face.
Edward Osborne helped me with this Fix.
Krishna Maroo from the National Deaf Children's Society and Rachel Gildersleeve from St Mary's School helped me with this Fix.
