Campaign: To educate children about healthy eating

I spent a lot of time on my parents’ allotment as a child so it was very natural for me to eat the fruit and vegetables that we had planted, looked after and picked.

I understood where my food came from, but I am concerned that lots of children have never seen fruit and vegetables growing and eat a lot of convenience food that is full of additives and not good for them.

My friend Louise shares my passion for healthy eating and together we’re campaigning to encourage children to learn more about where their food comes from and choose healthier options.

We are creating an illustrated booklet using fruit and vegetable art of various sorts that we created with a group of children.

We hope it will help youngsters make the right choices about the food they eat and will go some way to combatting the rise in childhood obesity.
