I know what it is like to live with mental health issues as I have suffered from anxiety and depression.
I have been lucky as my school has been very supportive of me and offered me the help I needed, including making sure there is someone to talk to when I need them.
I am at school in an area where there is a high incidence of suicide and mental health issues so local schools know what to look for. I am concerned other schools may miss the signs.
My project is to campaign for better awareness among teaching staff so they know what signs to look out for and how to help a pupil who might be struggling with poor mental health.
I have created a short animated video in which I describe my own experiences of mental health. I hope this will prove to be a useful tool and help others suffering from mental health problems.
