Campaign: | To show that teaching sport can be as rewarding as playing sport |
When I was 16 I was involved in a rugby accident and slipped a disk in my back.
I was forced to take a break from sports, which was very frustrating.
My athletics club were very supportive, and sent me on a coaching course shortly after my injury.
I realised that hardly any young people take up coaching, despite how rewarding it can be.
I’m working with Fixers to encourage other young athletes to recognise the benefits of becoming sports instructors.
Teaching others is more rewarding than a personal sporting achievement, and I would like others to see that.
