I was born in the UK, but my parents came to this country in the 80s.
At home we didn’t really speak English, so languages such as Yoruba came naturally to us.
Unfortunately, many British Africans don’t have this, either because they’re embarrassed to speak their mother tongue or simply don’t want to.
I’m working with Fixers to encourage others like me to embrace their cultural identity and learn their ancestral language.
Hopefully my campaign can inspire the next generation to remember where they came from and be proud of who they are.
*Note: Some Fixers exceed the age range of 16 to 25 during the course of their project.
