Campaign: To take a stand against hate crime

My team and I feel that hate crime is a really big issue.

We’re particularly concerned about abuse directed at LGBT young people, who are targeted as a result of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

It’s our view that young people in high schools don’t always realise the impact of hate crime. They don’t understand that what they consider a casual insult or name calling could really hurt someone.

At the same time, those affected might find that they don’t know who to talk to, or maybe they feel scared so don’t want to speak out and report it.

With Fixers, we’re campaigning to change that.

We want to encourage people to take a stand against hate crime.

We want victims to feel able to open up about it and bystanders to step in and tell bullies to stop.

Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:

Saskia Lee Jasmin Bannister
Jessica Ritchie Ben Leigh-Grosst
Rory Squitieri Ben Tillbrook
Nathan Peart Natalie Dawson
Alaric Lam Orlando Amachree
