Campaign: | To show people how to handle a stop and search situation |
I had a frustrating encounter with the police after I was stopped and searched by officers outside a local shop.
My concern was that people would assume that I was guilty of a crime even though I had done nothing wrong.
Stop and search by police is standard protocol but getting frustrated and stressed can make matters worse.
I want to show young people that knowing your rights and being relaxed can help the process go more smoothly.
With Fixers, I've created a film to provide helpful tips and guidance to anyone who feels anxious under police questioning and to help them remain calm.
Heathrow Community Fund is part of the independently run grant-making charity LHR Airport Communities Trust. Through their grant programme, they support significant and positive change for communities near the airport.
They are backing our campaign and working in partnership with Fixers to give young people, like us, the chance to make a difference.
