My team and I believe that sectarianism is an issue that dates back many generations and is deeply ingrained in some people.It’s essentially a rivalry between two groups that involves hatred and intolerance of other people’s views.We come from two areas, which have rival football teams, and on match days some of our group don’t leave the house for fear of getting caught up in violence.We can also feel unsafe and intimidated when we’re outside of our own communities.With Fixers, we want to show the impact of sectarian behaviour.We want to warn others that it’s not just ‘banter’ and that if they get involved they could end up with a criminal record.The rivalry needs to stop and we need to respect each other’s differences.
