Campaign: | To raise awareness of invisible disabilities |
I have a number of illnesses including a chronic respiratory condition which means I get breathless and tired easily.
People assume that because I’m young, look healthy and don’t use a wheelchair, that I can’t possibly have a disability.
I’ve been shouted at for using disabled parking bays and given disapproving looks when I’ve used seating reserved for those less able to stand.
With Fixers, I want to encourage people to rethink their attitudes towards those with hidden illnesses.
People with invisible disabilities are just as entitled to use disabled toilets, seats on public transport or parking spaces.
You should never judge anyone based on appearances.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:

Make My Day Better is the charity arm of DialAFlight and the Lotus Group and supports a variety of projects around the world. Their guiding principle is that the majority of their funding must directly benefit people.
They are backing my campaign and working in partnership with Fixers to give others, like me, the chance to make a difference.
Thanks also to Kate Martin who helped me to develop my Fix.
