Campaign: | To help others better understand ME |
I’ve lived with myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) since I was 8-years-old.
The condition, which is also known as chronic fatigue syndrome, causes you to feel persistently exhausted and doesn’t go away with sleep or rest.
It can be completely debilitating. At times, I’ve been left bedbound, barely able to talk and in constant pain.
Despite this, I’ve faced negative reactions from people who don’t understand the illness and say it’s not a ‘real’ condition.
I’m a lot better now and want to raise awareness of ME, so others are more sympathetic – we’re not just ‘tired’ or being ‘lazy’.
I hope my campaign also helps others with ME realise they’re not alone.
No one should feel misunderstood.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:
Alix Bailey | Caleb Toms |
Ella May | Holly Barrett |
Joe Hiscock | Lois Tyler |
Marcus Thurman | Megan Chilcott |
Roisin McCay-Hines |
Ceri Rutter, Plymouth and District CFS/ME Group
Thank you to Ceri who appeared in my broadcast to view my resource and support my campaign.
September 2015
With Fixers, I've created coffee cup sleeves to share my story and raise awareness of ME. These are now finished and are ready to be distributed in Plymouth.
