Year of the Fix: 2015
Location: Axminster, Devon
Campaign: To help others understand young carers and the vital role they play at home

I’m part of a group of young carers, who look after dependent loved ones.

But despite our extensive responsibilities, we often feel overlooked and ignored, because people don’t always understand what we do.

With Fixers, we want to help raise the profile of young carers and show the value of our work.

We want people, including health care professionals and our peers, to acknowledge the role we play at home.

Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:

Aaron Hurrell Abi Birbeck
Alishea Parker Bobbie-Marie Lovell
Chelsea Angell Cheyenne Cooper
India Jackson-Mack Jay Lerwill
Jess Balley-Lewis Lianne McLean
Lisa Duke Mycala Howard-Jones
Rachel Clinkett Ryan Hurrell
Sophie Parsons Stephanie Parker
Taryn Taylor

Thank you also to Liam Hurrell and Megan Cooper who are outside the 16-25 Fixers age range but have worked with us on this project.

Maureen Muckersie, Devon County Council

Maureen supports our project. She agreed to be interviewed to appear in our broadcast piece and has also offered to use our Fixers film in training courses run by the council.

Bright Futures

The team at Bright Futures support our Fix. They've helped facilitate our project by setting up our meetings with Fixers.
