Campaign: | To encourage young mums not to give up on their dreams |
I had my son when I was just 16-years-old.
When I first found out I was pregnant, I felt mixed emotions. I didn’t know what I was going to do.
But I decided that having a child didn’t mean I needed to abandon my other hopes and dreams.
I studied hard and am now in full-time employment. I wanted to be able to provide for my son and I completed an exam just a week after he was born.
With Fixers, I want to show other young mums that their lives don’t end when they become pregnant. They don’t have to give up on their ambitions.
I hope to help others find the balance between achieving personal goals and being a good parent.
Jessica Ross and Katy Hutchings are helping me with this Fix.
Siobhan Down, Yellow Brick Road Projects
Siobhan supports my Fix. She agreed to be interviewed to appear in my broadcast piece.
Richard and Jess from Richard James' Studio support my project. They were filmed for my TV piece and also volunteered their time to take photos for the book I’m creating with Fixers.
Thank you to the team at Motiv8 South for being supportive during filming, donating a venue for the TV piece and helping us find contributors.
