Campaign: To raise awareness of teenage depression

In 2014, my 18-year-old brother took his own life.

Along with my cousins Caitlin and Connor, I now want to raise awareness of teenage depression.

We’re worried that it isn’t always taken seriously and that sometimes it can be dismissed as just a side effect of puberty or adolescent hormones.

This can be harmful as it can prevent young people from getting the help they need.

We want to see a change in attitudes, so that everyone can recognise that depression can affect any age group.

Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:

Bethany Hale Bethney Beecham
Caitlin White Conner Hammond
Connor White Dennin Hewison
Hannah Inman Lewis Elmer
Ryan Barker

Emma Agar, Durham County Council

Senior Youth Worker, Emma Agar, supports our Fix. Emma originally put us in touch with Fixers then attended meetings with us.
