Cerys

Name: Cerys Pumphrey
Age: 17
Year of the Fix: 2015
Location: Bournemouth
Campaign: To educate people about mental health issues

I've been diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). It gives me the urge to wash my hands at least 30 times a day.

OCD is what I live with, but my team and I want to shed light on the different types of mental health conditions that can affect young people.

If others were able to recognise the symptoms and know how to help, it could combat the loneliness that some people experience.

With Fixers, we hope to encourage discussion on the subject of mental health, so that other young people feel able to open up to their peers and seek support.

Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:

Alice Fofana Amado Roku Ali
Cameron Ritchie David Chen
Hesper Stratford Katie Baughan
Lloyd Northover Matt Dray
Mollie Russell Ross Kilminster
Saskia Thorne Sian Butt
Jessica Witt Daniel Sargeant
Katie Fitzmaurice Anna Norman
Josie Kook-Ciark

Dr Andrew Mayers, Bournemouth University

Dr Andrew Mayers supports my Fix. He agreed to be interviewed to appear in my broadcast piece.
