Name: Ocean Anderson
Age: 17
Year of the Fix: 2015
Location: Witham, Essex
Campaign: To raise awareness about alopecia

My younger sister has alopecia.

The condition causes significant hair loss and can be hard to deal with.

Many people don’t understand the disorder and can react negatively when seeing someone, especially a young girl, who has it.

I want to create better understanding of this condition and help those with alopecia live their lives more confidently.

Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix

Alan Lord

Charlotte Lenman

Donavan Kempen

Charlotte Smith

Jen Chambers, Alopecia UK

Thank you to Jen Chambers for appearing in my broadcast and supporting my campaign.

Azura Anderson

Thank you to my sister Azura for supporting me and featuring in my broadcast.

Brenda Finn

Brenda, who has alopecia herself, supports my project and helped form part of a group for my TV piece.

September 2015.

Since my campaign aired on ITV News I've had great feedback from members of the public, some of which also live with alopecia. You can read a few of these comments below.

'You are gorgeous girls. I've only just been diagnosed in the last 8 weeks and have lost all of my hair, eyebrows and eyelashes. I'm finding it hard at the moment but looking and listening to you all I think you are amazing.'

'Good for you girls. I have had alopecia for 13 years now so I am sharing this on my Facebook page.'

'This is a great campaign!'

'Great report and great work by these young ladies!'
